Disco’s dead? Forget it …
The sound of synthesizers in clubs worldwide has never been bigger or louder, with Pet Shop Boys-style vocals reverberating as people get down to cheesy drum machine backgrounds. Chromeo, Holy Ghost! and Munk are just a few of the outfits representing a hot new wave of Synth-Pop and Disco.
For the inDISKOtabel Compilation, the wavemusic.sound.collective’s trusty DJs Max DISKO and Tim TABEL put together a Who’s Who of the contemporary Electro-Pop-Disco-whatever scene. Big names including Groove Armada, The Whitest Boy Alive and The XX are teamed up with up-and-coming stars of the scene like Berlin-based niAs, Non Tiq and Khan. The range includes both original recordings and inspired remixes.
Is it all just a remix of the 70s and 80s? We’ll leave others to debate that – for us it’s beyond discussion … it’s inDISKOtabel!
