Where is
Soul headed? Many seem to have missed the connection in the wake of Marvin
Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Aretha Franklin, and no longer really know exactly
where the Soul Train’s next destination is. We believe something has to be done
here, considering the fabulous Soul around today in its many various forms. But
before we all get over-involved in the debate on Neo-Soul, Electro-Soul,
Acoustic Soul, Rare Groove, we say: to hell with all the categorising and let’s
concentrate on what really matters, i.e. good songs.

Ya is Soul power pure – up-front, down-to-earth and kicking. Were Marvin
Gaye to ask today “What’s going on?”, this CD would be our answer.
India.Arie, Hil St. Soul, Musiq, Amy Winehouse, Soulounge are just a few
of the many who are determined to keep the Soul Locomotive running and ensure
the legends of earlier eras live on instead of forgetting them.
