sublime mood of Bill Evans’ classic “Waltz for Debbie” appears to have been

2, yet another collection of genuinely great new artists.
Crisp
melodies, irresistible chord arrangements and 14 musicians acknowledged as
masters of their art. Take the example of Gretchen Parlato, a singer with a
‘deep, almost magical connection to the music’ (Herbie Hancock). Or Jacqui
Naylor with her rendition of “Funny Valentine” – quite an achievement to give
this familiar classic a distinctively personal touch. Another highlight is a
French-language track performed by star trumpeter Chris Botti, featuring none
