The
development of wavemusic Volume 8
was a wonderful process. On our quest for outstanding songs and artists, we
discovered Madeleine Peyroux, with a voice that reminiscent of Billie Holiday
in expression and quality. We also experience Till Brönner’s debut as a singer
plus Buenos Aires, De Phazz, Fessler, Jazzamor, Nylon, [re:jazz] and Yulara –
German acts proving that there’s more musical quality and soul in their country
than it is often given credit for.
Further pursuing our goal of visualising wavemusic
through the work of extraordinary photographers, we were delighted to be able
to work with the artist Olaf Tamm, who illustrated the romance of the world of
Riva speedboats in scintillating cover images. The power and elegance of these
machines and the meticulous design of the legendary Carlo Riva let music,
photography and design become a harmonious whole.
